INCOMMON MAGAZINE
InCommon is a digital magazine created for and by the Commonwealth community and presented by the DE&I team. The magazine celebrates the wonderfully human common denominators we all share, and explores the variety of ways each of us express ourselves as individuals. Articles and artwork were contributed by members from every department of the agency community, helping folks find their voice who might not otherwise have the opportunity to do so. Demonstrating, quite literally, when we work together, the sum of our common denominators are always greater than that of our differences. In addition to our daily duties, the team put InCommon together largely as an after hours project and a labor of love. Very proud of the exceptionally talented team, and the extraordinary result of their labors.
In the Language Issue, we celebrate human expression in its many forms and explore all the ways language helps us understand one another. We explore the origins of Metro Detroit street names (and how to pronounce them) and how differences in dialects can get you into some very interesting conversations. And we discover how words become trends, poetry conjures memory and how the right meal can take you to distant lands, even when it’s just around the corner.
